キャメロン英国首相の日本人人質事件に関する声明

今朝，イスラム国により拘束されていた湯川さんが殺害されたとするニュースを受け，駐日イギリス大使のティム・ヒッチンズ（Tim Hitchens）氏がデイビット・キャメロン（David Cameron）総理の声明を紹介している。

キャメロン首相の声明は次のとおりである。

報道されている湯川遥菜さんの残忍な殺害とイスラム国による更なる脅威は，テロリストの残忍な蛮行を知らしめるものとなってしまいました。

（The reported brutal murder of Haruna Yukawa and the further threats made by ISIL are yet another reminder of the murderous barbarity of these terrorists.）

湯川さんのご家族のご心痛を心よりお察しいたします。
（My thoughts and prayers are with Mr Yukawa’s family.）

英国は，困難な状況にある日本国民と結束して立ち上がり，あらゆる可能な支援を引き続き日本政府に提供いたします。

(Britain stands in solidarity with the Japanese people at this difficult time and we will continue to offer the Japanese government all possible assistance.)

日本がテロに頭を下げて屈することを拒絶したことは正しい判断です。英国は，安倍晋三総理と同政府が示した毅然とした姿勢を強く支持するとともに，我々の市民のために，平和の進展とより安全かつ安定した将来を実現のため，日本及び世界の同盟国とともに引き続き協働していきます。
